Sh!t Bag by Xena Knox

Sh!t Bag is about Freya, who wakes up with a temporary ileostomy bag on her stomach. Things keep going downhill when people start treating her differently and the kids at school start calling her sh!t bag. Just when it seems like life can’t get worse, Freya gets shipped off to ‘Poo Camp’ – a weeklong camp for kids with bowel diseases bond.

For the first few chapters of Sh!t Bag I was really angry with all of the characters because they were all being pretty horrible people. Once I got to around page thirty, new characters were introduced and the book got really good.

I liked all of the characters, except for Lockie. I absolutely adored Jessica and Henners, they are so cute. They make me smile every time they talk. I also really liked Mel, she seems to be a great friend and she is pretty funny.

Sh!t Bag is a really funny book and I think that it does a good job of showing what people have to go through if they have an ileostomy bag or live with some of the bowel diseases mentioned in the book. While reading it I got to see many different perspectives from all of the characters. This book was really interesting and I learnt a lot from it.

I would recommend Sh!t Bag to anyone who is looking for a quick and funny book to read this summer.
