The Thing About Lemons by Tasha Harrison

The Thing About Lemons is about Ori, a girl who just made the worst mistake of her life. This mistake has resulted in her losing all her friends, having to cancel her summer plans and feeling like the worst person in the world.

Things don’t seem to be able to get any worse until she is forced to go on a road trip with her estranged grandad Claude to his house in the French countryside. While Ori scoffs at her mother’s suggestion to make lemonade, her sour situation turns sweeter than she thought.

The Thing About Lemons is really funny and has some great characters. My favorite characters are Odett and Maurice. Odett because she is really funny, I love her animals and it is really interesting learning about her past. Maurice because who doesn’t love a spider who causes chaos.

This book has lots of surprises and unexpected twists that don’t always result well but the book has a really sweet ending.

The Thing About Lemons is fast paced and impossible to put down. I read most of it in one sitting and could not look away from it.

I recommend The Thing About Lemons to anyone looking for a quick and sweet romcom to accompany them this summer.
