The Girl With No Soul by Morgan Owen

I was recently looking through my old reviews and realized how bad they actually are, so I decided to rewrite some of them to see how my reviews have improved. The Girl With No Soul was my first review I ever wrote so I thought this would be a good one to start on.

I absolutely adore this book, it’s one of my all time favorite books and I recommend it to everyone I meet.

The Girl With No Soul follows Iris, a girl with no soul. Iris is able to evade the watchful eyes of the Order’s lanterns that show a soul’s purity because of this. Having no soul also means that no one is able to remember her. This all changes when Iris steals a ring holding the memory of a soul destruction, which reunites her with her spark – one of the five parts of her own soul.

The Girl With No Soul is super fast paced and impossible to put down. When I first started reading it, it made a three hour flight delay feel like 30 minutes. I love the world that this book is set in, everything from the Order of Providence and the five Houses to how each soul is made up makes sense and fits together so well.

The characters in The Girl With No Soul are all amazing and it is so much fun to learn about each backstory and how each story connects with the plot. The characters and plot are super memorable, even over a year after reading this book I can still remember all the characters’ names which is very rare for me.

I would recommend this book to everyone, it may be a fantasy book but it’s really easy to forget that it is. It also has great romances and great action scenes.

I can’t wait for the next book in this series to come out in the spring!
