Double Trouble at the Dead Zoo by Alan Nolan

When Bram Stoker and Molly Malone find a lonely boy named Sanjit in the Natural History Museum, they can tell that he need some friends. So they, and Molly’s gang, the Sackville Street Spooks, show him around Dublin. Sanjit tells them the story of Captain Lamprey, a pirate with a hidden treasure and links to the museum. The new friends soon find themselves chased by villains and on the adventure of a life time to find the pirate’s long-lost treasure – the Rajapur Ruby. The kids have to be careful of who they trust because not everyone they meet is who the claim to be.

This book is so funny, it had me laughing out loud at times. Double Trouble at the Dead Zoo is an amazing middle grade historical fiction that I think anyone would enjoy. I love that at the end of the book there is lots of information about the songs sung in the book and about the real Bram Stoker and Molly Malone. I think that books that have information in the back are always the best.

This book has lots of friendships in it and I really like watching the characters grow closer threw out the book. I think Hetty’s relationship with the gang is my favorite because I love their rivalry and how it evolves as the book goes on.
