The first book is Little Bang by Kelly McCaughran. Little Bang a really sweet book about Mel and Sid, complete opposites who get pregnant on their first date. Keeping the baby could ruin Mel’s chances of going to college abroad but with abortion being illegal in Northing Ireland, they might not have a choice. I love this book so much. The book is super fast paced and impossible to put down.

Little Bang comes out in January 2024 and would be great for anyone who is looking for a sweet, funny book with great characters.

The second book is Where The Heart Should Be by Sarah Crossan. Where The Heart Should Be is a verse book that tells the story of a girl during the Great Famine. The book tells the story of love and family. I just started reading this book and it is really good so far. I love the characters and each poem is amazing.

Where The Heart Should Be comes out in March 2024 and would be great for anyone who has an interest in the Famine and anyone who enjoys reading verse books because this is one of the best verse books I have read.

The third book is The Tower Ghost by Natasha Mac A’Bháird. The Tower Ghost is about Clare who is starting her first term at Sycamore Hill. When she and her two new friends – Rose and Molly – notice a face in the tower window and keep hearing crying from the tower, they begin to wonder if the school is haunted and if it has anything to do with the strange death of student years earlier. Everyone is avoiding their questions so Clare, rose and Molly decide to investigate on their own. I haven’t read this book yet but I am really excited to.

The Tower Ghost comes out in April 2024 and would be great for anyone looking for a middle grade, historical mystery to read.
