Wider Than The Sea by Serena Molloy

Wider Than The Sea is a sweet and heartwarming middle grade book about Ró. Ró struggles with school and is acutely aware of everyone thinking she’s shy and stupid. The  only thing giving her the strength to get through each day is Sunny, the dolphin living in the bay near her house. When Sunny disappears Ró’s world starts to crumble.

I loved Wider Than The Sea so much. It is so sweet and just an amazing book.

I would recommend it to anyone looking for an uplifting book that is easy to read with great pictures.

I read Wider Than The Sea in less than a day, once you pick it up it is impossible to put down. There are amazing illustrations every few chapters and the book just makes you smile. Ró is an amazing character and the book is just so good. I cannot recommend it enough. It’s probably my favorite middle grade this year.

Ró has dyslexia and even though I can’t relate to the struggles she has with reading, I think a lot of kids would. I think Wider Than The Sea would be meaningful to a lot of kids, whether they struggle with dyslexia or reading or not. It was meaningful to me because I have dyslexia and can relate to some of her struggles just not all on them.
