Whenever Steven feels intense emotions, strange things happen. This is a problem because Steven literally killed someone with his happiness. Determined not to hurt anybody else, Steven runs away to the miserable town of Grunsby-on-sea. When his friends show up and agents talking about neutralization from a mysterious organization start following him, Steven starts to realize Grunsby-on-sea is not as safe as he once thought it was.

This book is so funny and sweet, it was difficult to put it down and go back to the real world. I has some amazing characters, my favorites are Troy and Marcus. They are both really funny and I love how they interact, especially at the start of the book.

I love the multiple perspectives in this book and getting to see what each characters perspective of the events are. Overemotional had some very unexpected twists that made me gasp out loud.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery with lots of magic elements and self discovery. There is also some very nice romance throughout the book.
