The Boy With The Haunted Heart by Morgan Owen

The Boy With The Haunted Heart is the sequel to The Girl With No Soul. After the old order was destroyed and the chancellor was locked away, Ruby and Oliver have been part of the new order. The new order is supposed to tie the five houses together and maintain peace in Providence. When an attempted assassination is carried out, Oliver starts to see glimpses of the future – always ending in Ruby’s death – and a new house is set up by an unknown power. It is clear the new order is failing to fulfil its purpose. Chaos erupts as more people join the new house and start to plan the downfall of the new order. Oliver doesn’t have control of his visions but they may be the only way to save Providence and Ruby.

I loved this book so much. I am so sad it’s over now. The Boy With The Haunted Heart is the perfect sequel. It is super fast paced and it pulls you into the book. There were multiple occasions were I wanted everyone to stop talking to me so I could read this book.

The Boy With The Haunted Heart dives into the sixth sense and seeing the future. It gives an even deeper insight into the world Ruby and Oliver live in and how the souls work. This is really interesting and I loved getting to understand more about their world.

This book had so many unexpected twists. Oliver was right about not being able to trust anyone. Some of the twists were really surprising. A few even made me gasp out loud, which did earn me some odd looks in school.

This book is great for anyone like The Girl With No Soul because it does not disappoint. I would recommend this series to everyone. It has a great world and amazing adventure that even those who hate fantasy will  enjoy. It also has romance, conflict and some of my all time favorite characters.

In the drawing I made for this book, I, much like one of the characters, forgot that Ruby’s eyes were hazel and instead made them green. This isn’t very noticeable but I felt that I needed to mention my mistake.
