The Undying Tower is set in a future where a small portion of the population don’t age. These people , known as Undying, have been blamed for every issue the world has – wars, food shortages, overpopulation. The Undying have almost no rights and are punished for every step out of line they take. But The Alchemists, a terrorist group, are trying to change this. When Sadie gets blamed for one of their attacks, she finds out life changing information about herself and is taken from the quiet life she lived. She is taken to ‘The Tower’ a correctional facility where she needs to quickly learn how to survive if there is any chance to get her old life back. While at The Tower, Sadie and her unlikely group of friends make a horrifying discovery, they need to find a way to reveal this to the world but there is no one they can trust.
I loved The Undying Tower, the dystopian world it was set in was really interesting to learn about. There are lots of secrets, a courut government and I especially enjoyed that as Sadie finds out more about the true intentions of the government, we get to see the world through a different perspective as Sadie unlearns everything she thought she knew.
This book has a gripping plot with lots if amazing action scenes. There’s a lot of tension throughout the book and some very unexpected twists every time you think that everything has been figured out. The pace of this book was really good, nothing felt rushed or too slow.
I really enjoyed the concept of the Undying and how they were able to not age or die of natural causes. I think that The Undying Tower did this really well and the whole thing felt very original.
I would recommend this to anyone who likes dystopian, this book reminded me a bit of The Hunger Games with how the world was introduced.
