The Pirate’s Dragon follows Raff and Serina, who live on separate islands and believe the other to be their sworn enemy. To save their new dragons, they have to stay together and they become unlikely friends. When Serina’s home and all the dragons of Arcosi are threatened, they need to persuade their people to work together.
The characters in The Pirate’s Dragon are great. I really enjoyed seeing Raff and Serina’s friendship grow and bond over their dragons even when they were raised to hate each other. I also really enjoyed getting to see Raff’s development as he grew more confident and started to stand up for what he believed in instead of letting others take the lead.
I love the Legends Of The Sky trilogy so much. this book has been the perfect ending to it. I finished The Pirate’s Dragon and immediately wanted to reread it and the other two books before it. One of the reasons I love this series so much is how unforgettable it is to me. With a lot of books, I forget everything that happens in them really easily. With Legends of the Sky, despite reading the first book from the series a long time ago (its been over five years) I still remember a huge chunk of what happens in it.
Another thing I love about this series is how different each book is to each other. instead of following the same characters you get to see the characters and dragons grow up because each story is from a different and younger character’s perspective who is living in a very different world from the last despite all living on the same island. I love getting to see the grown characters from past books and getting to see some of their story continued.
I loved The Pirate’s Dragon. It’s a really fast paced book full of adventure. I’d recommend it and the whole series to anyone who enjoys middle grade fantasy, dragons, adventure, family and friendship.
