Not For The Faint Of Heart follows Mariel – a captain of the Merry Men, desperate to live up to the legacy of her grandfather, Robin Hood – and Clem – an assistant healer kidnapped by Mariel’s ramshackle band. When Mariel’s father, the commander of the Merry Men, gets captured in an ambush, Mariel sets off to get him back with her annoyingly cheerful captive in tow. Growing closer to Clem, Mariel starts to question the cause she’s devoted her life to. But despite this, they must be ready to fight fir their lives and everybody in the greenwood.
I loved Not For The Faint Of Heart. Usually I’m not a fan of romance, but I always really enjoy Lex’s books. Not For The Faint Of Heart is full of action and adventure. It’s fast paced and has a really gripping story. The book is completely addictive and impossible to put down once you get into it.
This book has amazing characters. I love them all so much. I found it really interesting to learn about them through both the perspective of Clem and Mariel. I really liked seeing the different relationships and how much they all care so much about each other.
Not For The Faint Of Heart is super funny. The story is a great addition to the original Robin Hood stories. I finished this book over a week ago and I still can’t get over the ending. The things that happened to one of my favorite characters made me very upset. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to reread this knowing what happens. But I love this book so much that I probably will reread it anyway.
Not For The Faint Of Heart is great for anyone who likes queer romance and historical fantasies.
