Murder On A Summer Break by Kate Weston

Murder On A Summer Break is the sequel to Murder On A School Night. It follows Kerry, who is dragged along to the Festival of Fame by Annie who dreams of becoming an influencer. Kerry isn’t thrilled about this but decides to use this opportunity to finally prove herself as a journalist by exposing the life of influencers. But when a famous prankster is found dead with a condom on his head, the Tampon Two need to solve the case before other influencers die.

After reading Murder On A School Night, I didn’t think these two detectives could get funnier, but they did. Murder On A Summer Break lived up to the high expectations set by the previous book —it is super funny, has great characters and is overall a great mystery book.

Murder On A Summer Break is fast paced and has some very unexpected twists. The suspense throughout the book kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see who would be killed next.

This book has new characters which represent large genres of content on social media platforms. There’s a beauty influencer, a fortune teller, a prankster and a couple others. It is really interesting reading about these characters, some falling into stereotypes and some not.  In Murder On A Summer Break you also learn more about characters from the first book, like Kerry, Annie and many others.

Murder On A Summer Break is the perfect summer read with its fun mystery and great humor.
