Moth To A Flame is the last book in the Butterfly Assassin trilogy. It is an great ending to Isabel’s story. It follows Isabel after she escapes from Espera. She struggles to adjust to the outside world and struggles to find her place in it once she leaves behind her identity as a feared assassin known as the Moth. Her new ‘normal’ life halts to a stop when a journalist is murdered, the abolitionist movement gains strength, and when Isabel is forced to decide what role the Moth will play in Espera’s uprising.
Moth To A Flame is so good. It is a very different book from the two before it, but it was the ending that this trilogy needed. It is about Isabel’s grief and the beginning of her healing process. This book is sad but also hopeful and it was really nice seeing how Isabel was supported and how she supported others throughout the book.
This book had a lot of new and interesting characters. I really enjoyed seeing the relationships that Isabel made with them.
I think one of my personal favorite things about Moth To A Flame was the appearance of my favorite character – Ronan’s cat Rory – in more than one sentence or even one paragraph. I felt so much joy when she appeared on multiple pages and chapters.
Moth To A Flame has amazing characters and relationships, unexpected twists, grief, healing and a couple great action scenes. It is essential for anyone who enjoyed the other two books in this trilogy to read.
