How To Survive A Horror Movie by Scarlett Dunmore

How To Survive A Horror Movie follows Charley, a horror enthusiast and the new kid at an all girls boarding school on a remote island. Keeping a low profile becomes impossible when she starts finding the bodies of her murdered classmates. What’s worse, is she can see the ghosts of the girls who died. With only Charley and her best friend’s knowledge of the horror genre and its rules, they need to solve the murders before graduation.

I loved How To Survive A Horror Movie. It was super creepy but still funny and really fun to read.

I loved the mystery of How To Survive A Horror Movie, it was laid out like a horror movie but it felt really original and interesting. It also had a really great ending and was full of twists.

The characters in How To Survive A Horror Movie were all really great. I loved learning about the characters and their pasts. Even with the ghosts, some of whom couldn’t talk, their personalities were really strong and fun. I also found how the killer’s final reveal to be really unexpected. But it added a lot of insight into who they were before they started killing, which I liked.

I really liked that Charley could see the ghosts of her dead classmates. Watching her figure out what was going on and how to communicate with them was really interesting. I also enjoyed learning about the ghosts’ rules, how they worked and why they were there.

I would recommend How To Survive A Horror Movie to anyone who likes horror movies, as there are a lot of references to popular horror movies and books. The suspense and action in the book is amazing and feels like a real movie.
