Books I’m Looking Forward To Reading

We Are Hunted by Tomi Oyemakinde

We Are Hunted is about Femi and his brother who go with their father on a business trip to a top secret island hoping to rebuild their rocky relationship. At the island they discover strange and beautiful animals but Femi also discovers a deadly secret hidden under the island’s sparkling facade. When bodies start to fall, Femi and his family need to decide how far they are willing to go to survive.

I’m already halfway through this book and I love it, I can’t wait to keep reading and learning more about the mysterious island Femi and his family are stuck on.

Shadow Creatures by Chris Vick

Shadow Creatures is about Tove and Lila, whose village has been invaded by Germans. Their island is turned into a prisoner of war camp. Tove and Lila’s brother join the resistance, who operate secretly like the shadow creatures in Norwegian myths, and wayward Agna courts danger when she decides to help a prisoner.

I’m really excited to read Shadow Creatures. Because I really enjoy historical fiction and I have heard that this book is really good.

How It All Ends by Emma Hunsinger

How It All Ends is about Tara who skipped eighth grade and went straight to high school. She’s scared that she’ll get lost in a never ending hallway or get paired with one of the rowdy boys for a group project. Maybe everyone will think she’s a baby. But she might make new friends, she can have pizza for lunch everyday and her group project partner makes her least favorite class something she looks forward to.

I really love graphic novels and How It All Ends looks really good. While writing this I ended getting distracted by reading this book and I really like it so far.

Songlight by Moira Buffini

Songlight is about Elsa, who lives hiding a secret. She has a sixth sense known as her songlight, which is a rare, telepathical sense that could get her persecuted if anyone found out. Only her Rye, a soldier who also possesses this sense and they risk everything to meet together in their minds. When out fishing, Elsa is visited by a girl with a really strong songlight, their friendship grows and with war coming closer to shore, their bond may be tho only thing that could save Elsa’s life.

I just started reading Songlight and I love the story and learning about the world so far.
