Apocalypse Cow by O. R. Sorrel

Apocalypse Cow is a super fun dystopian book  that follows Mel. Mel is in love with Sasha – her straight best friend. Sasha is too worried about climate change to notice. On top of that, Mel has to deal with homophobic bullies, Janis and Ella, and the poshest boy alive, Dorian. When it feels like her life can’t get worse, the world is attacked my mutated animals. Mel is stuck with only Ella and Dorian; they have no idea if their families and friends are safe.

This book is very unique and creative. Each mutated animal is different and crazy (in a good way). It was really exciting to discover why these mutations were occurring while the characters figured it out. It was also really interesting to learn what all of the mutated animals could do.

This book is really easy and fun to read. It has a great mix of action, friendships and romance. I stayed up way to late finishing Apocalypse Cow but it was worth it. Apocalypse Cow is fast paced, exciting and suspenseful. There are many action pact scenes throughout the book. The anticipation of what would happen next made this book impossible to put down.

I loved this book. It’s hilarious and has great characters. My personal favorite was Dorian. I really enjoyed seeing the relationship develop between Mel, Ella and Dorian once they’re stuck together.

I just finished this book the other day and I have already recommended it to several people. It has aspects that I think anyone would like: it has romance, friendship, action, comedy and a dystopian setting.
